A dive on HMS Northcoates Sunday 4/10/26

Waves Shape
After an initial delay charging up a flat boat battery we got underway greeting a mirror calm sea at the harbour entrance and bright sunshine
The wreck chosen was HMS Northcoates which was closer than the original planned wreck
This is a relatively intact WW11 armed trawler and one of our favourites
Myself Adrienne and Steve dropped down the shot line adjacent to the wreck in perfectly slack water to a seabed of 26m
The 8m visability exceeded expectations and we spent 45mins exploring the wreck
The marine life was exceptional with shoals of bib and pollock and congers peeping out from every hole
A motionless large John Dory
was quite unafraid
Befitting to the occasion Paul Grace laid a wreath in celebration of his fathers diving days
A poignant end to a lovely dive
Thanks to John our cox and Paul for his help
