*Joint Training at Vobster*
Two members from 7 Sea’s, PJ and Justin Clark, met up with 2 members from BSAC Crock Log, Mick Edwards and Paul Gough, to carry out some Dive Leader training at Vobster Dive Centre in Somerset including – Lifting exercises using lift bags to move weights underwater to reposition them and then lifting and recovering them from the surface Using delayed surface marker buoys correctly, Dive Leader demonstration skills review at 20 mtrs – regulator retrieval, mask clearance, alternative air source assents, recovery of a casualty from the surface and landing them and carrying out CPR. The second dive was again Dive Leading demonstration and carrying out CBL’s Controlled Buouyant lifts from 20 mtrs to 6 mtrs following a dive to the Sea King Helicopter and the tunnel then back up to 6 mtrs to do deco and safety stops. Once at the surface , the students carried out another rescue of an unconscious non breathing casualty using rescue breaths combined with towing and more rescue breaths, before landing the casualty and carrying out CPR. A really great day lots achieved and learnt skills refreshed. A big thanks to Mick Edwards for being the casualty and for providing the attached photos. Looking forward to the next training session
