What a cracking day out on the Ore — one of those dives that reminds you exactly why we keep coming back for more.
From the moment we dropped the shot in, it was clear the site was absolutely teeming with life. Easily the biggest lobster I’ve ever seen made an appearance, alongside a huge brown crab that looked like it had been lifting weights. There were at least six big conger eels tucked away, and one particularly friendly (or confused!) one even tried to come in for a kiss… which definitely added a bit of excitement to the dive.
Everywhere you looked there was fish — and not just the usual small fry, but some seriously impressive-sized ones cruising through. The Ore really delivered once again.
It wasn’t just about the marine life though — today was a day full of personal milestones for the team. David smashed his first dive beyond 20 metres, Justin took his first shot at wreck photography, and Paul C got back in the water for his first dive in two years — great to have you back! And of course, we can’t forget Adrienne’s “memorable” first attempt at drowning someone in the harbour… apologies again, Paul!
All jokes aside, it was one of those perfect club days: loads of laughs, big achievements, and incredible diving. The Ore continues to prove itself as a proper hotspot of marine life — though sadly not for the lobster-hunting carnivores among us this time!
Massive thanks to Justin for Coxing and everyone involved — days like this are what it’s all about.
