An easy trip out to the Mulberries on a calm sea, though there was a big cloud over the sun on our way out – unheard of this summer. Did seem to be the annual Seagull meet as flocks of them were floating around, I preferred my guess of a glut of jellyfish to John’s which was a glut of something less savoury!
Arriving at the Mulberries there were already 2 boats tied to the buoy but despite that we only saw 2 pairs of divers on the wreck and easily avoided them by going in a different direction. Visibility was better than the previous week, seems to be improving by the week now and as usual there was plenty to see, though a lack of lobsters & crabs. There was lots of white worm like things on stones and rocks but they felt solid so not sure what they were. There was also a plaque on the wreck which I am not sure whether it is fairly new as I can’t remember seeing it before or if it has just been cleaned off as it was easy to see and read.
Very relaxed dive and kudos to Matteo for looking extremely comfortable on only his second sea dive, doing 55 minutes and only using 100 bar of a 12l cyclinder and thanks to John for coxing.
